Irene is an accomplished Senior Health Officer and Consultant Midwife with over 12 years of expertise in public health. Her expertise lies in Family Planning/Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (FP/RMNCAH), Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and community health systems strengthening. She is skilled in designing and implementing community-led and social behavior change (SBC) interventions, capacity building, and operational research. Currently, as the Program Manager Coordinator for Doula Outreach Africa (DOA) Kenya, Irene oversees the design and implementation of targeted SBC approaches for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) in Tiaty, Baringo. Irene holds a Master of Science in Nursing (Midwifery) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is currently pursuing a second Master's degree in Public Health, specializing in Health Systems Management. Additionally, she is a certified Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) and has expertise in Project Management, Policy Development, Monitoring & Evaluation, Infection Prevention Control (IPC), Operational Research, and Quality Improvement.
